Orientation

We held our first orientation yesterday to prepare for Texas. We met the students from Tokyo early in the morning. In the morning session we started with icebreaking and team-building activities. We split into two groups and tried to make the tallest free-standing giraffe from newspaper! The winning team won some tasty (?!?!) root beer candy from Sarah's trip to Canada.

After that we played some games to get to know each other. Do you know two truths and a lie?
We found out some interesting things about each other ;). After that, we played commonalities because we all have something in common!

Then, we worked on improving our emotional intelligence. We discovered lots of new words to use to describe how we fell - elated, heartbroken, devastated, ecstatic, etc. we considered the intensity of these words and how and we to use them. The role plays were really funny! Are you emotionally intelligent?
